Entrepreneurial Program Lead (Part-time)

VPD Government Solutions is a rapidly growing, employee-centric professional services company that provides Program, Project, Acquisition, and Facilities Management services, serving as trusted advisors to all of our Federal Government clients. We are seeking an Entrepreneurial Program Lead to join our diverse and talented team. 
 
Position Description:
The Entrepreneurial Program Lead will support the VPD Entrepreneurial Program Manager in the planning, coordination and execution activities required to implement our company’s vision of providing investment capital and professional mentoring to aspiring entrepreneurs in underdeveloped business zones. This position is part-time and is expected to work approximately 40-50 hours per month. 

Entrepreneurial Program Overview: 
In 2020, VPD will begin awarding several jobs to the winners of a Shark Tank style investing event to be held with students from several select DCPS High Schools and local colleges & universities.  VPD Government Solutions will provide winning teams with the following:  1) jobs while the entrepreneurs research and then build their business into reality 2) office space if needed for a collaborative environment 3) structured mentoring by regular VPD Government Solutions full time employees focused on advising the entrepreneurial teams and setting up a set of targeted business plans that will be used to evaluate successful progression 4) monthly events focused on bringing in community guest speakers to lecture and teach entrepreneurial lessons learned and professional development goals and decisions to the student employees 5) investment funds to pay for necessary technology, tools and prototypes if needed and justified by the winning teams.

Entrepreneurial Program Lead Job Responsibilities include:
  • Manage and coordinate the entrepreneurial project and provide feedback to leadership to ensure all priorities are communicated clearly and the program grows successfully.
  • Coordinate, plan, attend and participate in monthly program wide events
  • Prioritize work and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Prepare a variety of written materials in response to requests from program participants, to include teachers, mentors, and student employees such as newsletters, fact sheets, emails, advertisements, decks, etc.
  • Incorporate charts and graphics into layout of verbiage using graphic design skills
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, meet with third parties jointly or independently, represent VPD professionally when needed in carrying out business transactions
  • Analyze and support the development of business plans, proposals, policies and procedures, and schedules in support of the program
  • Analyze program issues and risks, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and support the implementation of recommendations in support of goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Entrepreneurial passion and vision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field; an MBA (or similar) graduate or student developing their own business or social outreach program would be preferred
  • Must live in a HUBZone (search your address in the SBA HUBZone map in order to determine eligibility)
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of related software applications including but not limited to:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, One Note, Publisher, Skype, SharePoint, Internet Explorer, and Adobe Pro
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
  • Strong and confident presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience with graphic design software such as Visio or Adobe preferred
  • No travel required, but workplace location within the DC area will vary and participant needs to be flexible and willing to work in whatever location best suits the program
