Voigt Peters Dumouchelle is rapidly growing consulting firm that provides Program, Acquisition, and Facilities Management services to both the Federal Government and commercial clients. We are seeking a part-time Proposal Writer to assist with our client development initiatives.

The Proposal Writer will manage the proposal development lifecycle. This includes developing, coordinating, and writing comprehensive and compelling proposals consistent with requests for proposals (RFPs/RFIs) instructions, evaluation factors, and win themes.

The Proposal Writer will manage the proposal development lifecycle. This includes developing, coordinating, and writing comprehensive and compelling proposals consistent with requests for proposals (RFPs/RFIs) instructions, evaluation factors, and win themes.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate proposal data calls with senior management and subject matter experts (SMEs) to manage, proposal organization, and development
- Interview SMEs to gather technical information for potential content
- Write compelling, creative, and clear text with win themes and differentiators. Integrate proposal content, i.e. technical information, management plans, and other content into cohesive and compliant proposal(s)
- Participate in proposal content reviews and incorporate all feedback from management team
- Design and implement graphics into proposal material
- Ensure that final version has been thoroughly reviewed and is a high-quality product (i.e. grammar, formatting, tone, clarity and consistency, etc.) and submitted by required deadline
- Maintain knowledge of the Federal market, current, and future business partners, competitors and acquisition trends
- Support development and management of an opportunity pipeline to prioritize the most promising opportunities
- Develop proposal content management system to store and easily retrieve proposals
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism or Communications preferred
- 2 years (minimum) of experience with proposal writing for Federal consulting services
- Familiarly with government contracting and an understanding of government acquisition mechanisms preferred
- Experience reading and interpreting government solicitations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to condense complex ideas into coherent, succinct text and apply strong grammatical skills
- Detail-oriented and driven to perform high-quality work
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
- Self-starter and fast learner who takes initiative and meets strict deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Responsive to receiving feedback and guidance from management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
